The SFX9 3.25-inch can be ordered with an integral light rail machined into the dust cover. When configured with a rail, this subcompact pistol accepts a select group of compact weapon lights while retaining a low profile for concealed carry. The rear locking slot is in the same position as other light‑rail guns, but the forward slot is shortened to accommodate holster clearance.
What is the magazine capacity of the SFX9 pistols? The 5-inch and 4-inch models ship with two 15-round magazines and can accept optional 18-round extended magazines. The 3.25-inch subcompact models include either two 15-round or two 10-round magazines, depending on the configuration. All models use Wilson Combat’s double‑stack X‑Frame magazines for reliable feeding.
How does the SFX9 differ from a traditional 1911? While it retains the crisp trigger and slide‑to‑frame fit of a classic 1911, the SFX9 uses a solid, high‑capacity aluminum X‑Frame instead of a steel single‑stack frame. This design features a slimmer grip profile and increased rigidity, while the Enhanced Reliability System slide assembly and double-stack magazines ensure dependable operation with modern 9mm ammunition.
Can the SFX9 be equipped with a red‑dot sight? Yes. Wilson Combat offers red-dot slide machining options for all SFX9 models, allowing for the mounting of standard micro optics. The tri‑top slide profile and removable front sight make it easy to configure the pistol for your preferred optic and backup iron sight arrangement.
Does the SFX9 require special maintenance? No. The fluted barrel and chamber, external extractor, and match‑grade components are designed for long‑term reliability. Routine cleaning and lubrication following Wilson Combat’s guidelines will ensure years of trouble‑free service. The pistol can be field-stripped with a simple punch and reassembled without the need for special tools.
