I was a little intimidated about installing. But was super easy only 5 minutes. Watched Wilson Combat video 3 times. No problem and quality I expected from Wilson combat
This fits for the new Colt Kodiak (mine is 4.25” bought in 2025). I bought the necessary tools (roll punch pins, double sided hammer with 1 side rubber other brass) and followed YouTube tutorial video.
A .039 pin punch? Not a normal tool and I could not find one online. Luckily I had one small enough but it was not long enough. Managed to get it installed, but barely. Can't wait to shoot it, the sights look a lot better with this rear and the gold blade front.
The original rear sight was loose even with all the hardware tight. The leaf was still floppy (side-to-side and fore/aft). I installed the Wilson Combat white gold bead front and the Wilson square aperture rear sight. Overall, this combination is very easy to see with great daylight on either side of the blade and produces an excellent match quality target sight picture. My 4 ¼ inch Python is being modified to be my EDC weapon.
Great for fast target acquisition and rapid dot pick-up. I still find my eyes work a bit better with the square-notch rear for slow, accurate shooting, but this is an excellent sight for its intended purpose.
As the title states, this is a great upgrade over the janky factory rear sight. Positive detents for both elevation and windage with no need for a set screw lockdown. Definitely recommend!
If you have a Python or Anaconda, get one of these while you can. It’s an infinite improvement over the OEM rear on the “2020” revolvers; windage adjustment in particular. How Colt/CZ could so greatly improve the front sight setup, then botch the rear has to be one of the great firearms mysteries of the ages. What were they thinking - or, was someone just not thinking?
Does what it’s supposed to do. It holds position unlike the factory rear sight. I wish they could provide a front sight with a tritium element.
The sight fits the gun very well, and when you are using it, you can focus on the front sight with ease. Elevation and side to side adjustments are crisp and the sight does not move once you have made your adjustments.
