Controlled Fracturing bullets are pre-stressed at specific points so that after a predetermined penetration depth, the razor-edge petals deploy, releasing an energy spike. These bullets are designed to deliver maximum terminal performance and are optimal for use in .458 SOCOM loads, as well as .45-70 Government, .458 Lott, and .458 Winchester Magnum.

Please note that these are bullets (projectiles) only for reloading. This product is not loaded ammunition that is ready to use in a firearm.

Lehigh Defense originated Controlled Fracturing Technology.  These bullets are designed to deliver maximum terminal performance.  Controlled Fracturing bullets are produced from solid copper and are pre-stressed at specific points so that after a predetermined penetration depth, the razor-edge petals deploy, releasing an energy spike and then separate and radiate outward from the primary path of the bullet.  The bullet shank, now back to bore diameter, continues penetrating straight and deep along the initial impact path.

    These bullets perform Exceptionally well. However I have witnessed the price of these bullets increase by almost 100% over the course of a few years. I understand that all things have become more expensive, but this is overkill. I bought my first few boxes for between $50-$60. around 2018. The bullets perform very well but honestly, most projectiles shot out of a 45-70 will kill them just as dead as this round would. your game wont know the difference. I'm glad I got these before they became unreasonably expensive. Happy hunting.

    These fired from a 45-70 at 1050 fps drop deer in their tracks. The slug remains intact and usually passes through deer ribs completely but the segments forming the hollow point break off in all directions leaving insides destroyed and making a clean kill. Accuracy is decent but if you’re getting 1.5” or better at 100 yards with a 45-70 that’s to be expected and is what I get with these. Very quiet with Trailboss.
