Superior Defense ammo for all scenarios

Posted by Grendelman on Feb 13th 2025

I've been a tactical and competitive steel challenge target shooter for 30yrs. Also an avid hunter. 4 tours in Iraq. This is the ammo you want in your 9mm, 40SW, 380, and10mm,etc. If you get in a tactical combat situation, this ammo doesn't care what glass, car door, light barriers are in the way. You will still be able to accurately and effectively neutralize your attacker/car jacker/opponent. Do some real life training and sit in a car and shoot through the glass and the drivers door at your target. This round is still accurate and very lethal. Does not deform or expand yet still does massive tissue damage and lethal penetration. The 90grs have a controllable recoil even with a Sub compact w/ 3"ish barrels. If you are an accurate shooter with the kill zones they are going down fast and out of the fight. IMO the 90gr is the ideal combo of weight and velocity for best performance in 4" barrel and under pistols.

Great ammo, fixed FTF/FTRB in Glock 48

Posted by Sidji on Aug 13th 2024

Great ammo. Very accurate but definitely has a different POI/POA from practice ammo. This is most noticeable beyond 20 yards. From 5-15 yards it's concordant with practice ammo. Surprisingly easy to shoot, with less recoil than 115gr ball. All of this is out a Glock 48. Easy A-zone hits out to 45 yards. The Glock 48 has been problematic with one handed use. Often jams, fails to feed or to return to battery. This happened with 115gr ball and Federal HST3 124gr +P. Even with a very tight grip the failures recurred. however, after 100 rounds of Lehigh 90g XD there have been no failures. Even with intentional "limp wrist" shooting the Lehigh fed flawlessly and was a pleasure to shoot one handed especially over the 124g +P's. One dedicated range session and I've gained confidence in this round. It is accurate, easy to shoot and reliable.

    Long lasting and effective

    Posted by ThatGrunt17 on Mar 17th 2024

I have dispatched two hogs on my farm with these rounds (don't judge it was in a pinch.) To put a practical test in comparison with the data, these rounds do exactly what they are designed to do: mass damage and no overpenetration.

Great ammo, not much recoil through my Glock 43x

Posted by Bryan on Feb 5th 2024

With my 43X, I've have had failure to fire issues with range ammo and sig 147 gr Elite defense vcrown. This ammo was flawless and I will use as my edc. I am however, thinking this may be that the trigger is not resetting and maybe not the ammo at all. I will try a new trigger from the Glock Store. I like the issue with Bill and Mas Ayoob concerning the risks of over penetration and why this might be a more responsible choice...I'm not a cop and will probably never need to shoot through a car window or other hard surface, so this seems a responsible choice.

    Update - Additional Firearms Feedback

Posted by Darrin on Aug 1st 2023

Previously, I reviewed this for my Sig P365, but I have additional feedback for my Staccato C2 and my Bul Armory SAS II UL 3.25. This ammo appears to work flawlessly in my Staccato, but not 100% reliable in the BA SAS II UL. I fired four mags of this ammo in the SAS II UL and on the last magazine I had a FTF on the second to last round. I believe this is more firearm-related in this case because I've never had even one malfunction with this ammo in numerous other firearms. The SAS II UL has a reputation of being a bit of a finicky 2011 when it comes to ammo, although it's the only malfunction I've had thus far out of 1000 rounds of various ammo (FMJ and JHP) up to 124 grain.

    Top Self Defense Option

Posted by Anonymous on Mar 12th 2023

Compared this against 5 other carry ammos including Underwood’s version of the same projectile. This WC/Lehigh shot softer than Underwood’s and of 5 different carry rounds I achieved my best groups with this WC/Lehigh XD. Give them a try and read up on the Fluid Transfer characteristics as well as XD barrier performance.
