After laser bore sighting with a wheeler magnetic type at 28 yards, this barrel was on paper at 100 yards, this speaks well of the crown machining being true to the bore, lesser quality barrels are not like this. With Norma whitetail ammo, first time out was sub moa easily. This barrel performed extremely well, and at the price point, this was an excellent acquisition, I’ll but Wilson Combat again without hesitation.
Really good barrel. Fit and finish is excellent. Haven’t shot enough rounds to make an accuracy claim but generic handloads and Nosler factory AB were about 1.5” at 100. Probably not a better option at this price point anywhere. There are a couple of things to note prior to purchase. WC sizes the gas port for a lighter buffer than the 5.35 oz in my rifle lower. No big deal but it’s good to know on the front end so you can decide how to manage. Now…the only thing keeping me from a 5-star rating across the board is the barrel extension. It is machined so sharp, it rips right through your brass necks upon ejection. You will need to do a little work if you plan on reloading. Jim in customer service was responsive and helpful regarding my concerns.
Nice accurate barrel for the price....if I could make an improvement it would be to make a 24" version as well as the .243 Winchester and 7mm08. This would help maximize the use of long range ammo.....and I would buy all 3 and switch them out. If you read please consider making all of your AR-10 barrels in a 24" version.
I purchased the 24 inch version of this barrel, the Super Sniper and it is amazing. I have been a .260 fan for years. My 24 inch hold a consistent .5 inch group at 200 yards so it will be my new Deer gun from now on. As for the finish it is really beautifully done and the fluting is clean. I am extremely please with this barrel and wish they would bring it back. It out performs the 6.5 Creedmoor by a long shot and if you reload 308 Win. brass works perfectly and no trimming needed for the first couple reloads. And the .260 offers a greater selection of Projectile/load variations available than the 6.5 Creedmoor. I could not be happier with my Barrel and plan on getting the fluted 20 inch .308 Super Sniper and the fluted 18 inch 300 Hmr. Urban Super Sniper if and when they ever become available. I am definitely using Wilson Combat Barrels in all my builds from now on.
I ordered 3 of the 20in. 260 match grade , built 3 AR10 they all will shoot dime size groups 3/8 min. MOA
