Caliber Notes: The 300 HAM'R was designed to provide maximum muzzle energy and penetration when fired from an AR rifle. In fact, it offers similar performance as the .308 Winchester cartridge while outperforming the classic 30-30 hunting rifle - a proven favorite among hunters for generations. The 300 HAM'R cartridge is a force to be reckoned with, showcasing 18% more retained velocity, 40% greater energy, and a 56% flatter trajectory than the 300 BLACKOUT at 200 yards! Not to mention its remarkable accuracy and low recoil in an easily manageable AR platform rifle that uses the standard 5.56 Bolt. To ensure maximum reliability we recommend using a 300 Blackout magazine for optimal performance.

I haven’t had any luck with Wilson Combat barrels in my builds. My 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 SPC has been complete nightmares. However, my 300 Ham’r build is awesome! From day one, it’s ran fine without any issues. Accuracy is acceptable for hunting. I’m getting around 1-1.5” MOA which I’m good with out to 100 yards.
Built a straight pull AR that weighs 3# 10 oz. So light I've had to double check several times to see if it's even on my shoulder.
I'm all in with Wilson Combat 300 HAM'R. This caliber is definitely for reloaders.
Updating my last review. Had a defect with one of the two barrels I purchased. I was provided the RMA form and shipping directions. I set in my mind to check in after a few days after returning the barrel to make sure everything was good. Before I could follow up, they had the new barrel packaged and on its way. Insanely quick response. This is why you buy Wilson.
I got this as a upgrade to my 300 blackout, something with a little more zip, and man I can't tell you what a dream this is to shoot I'm getting 0.5 MOA at 100 yards with 130 gr. bullets and 26 gr. of cfeblk. NICE IS ALL I CAN SAY......
I purchased two of these. Built them on Adams Arms piston systems. One is absolutely fantastic. Gentle recoil and great accuracy. The second one would not group. Upon inspection, the barrel was separating from the receiver extension. The barrel was twisting and only held from further loosening by the piston. Checking in with customer service as my gunsmith can't do anything to correct it.
Got this to build something different in AR15 platform. 300blk never really interested me however, after reading some magazine articles and watching some reviews I decided to build a 300 Ham’r carbine. I have two .223 wyldes in 16” and 18” and a 6.5 Grendal with 20” DMR barrel from Odinworks but still wanted something different. I didn’t want an AR10 because I already have a bolt 6.5 CM. I wavered between a 6mm ARC the Ham’r but with the 6.0 I would have needed another BCG. Plus, what my Grendal catch match of the 6.0 my 6.5 CM will easily surpass. I just wanted to keep things simple so the Ham’r it was to be. I’m so happy Idid it. I love this gun! Accurate but hits with authority and without a noticeable difference in recoil. In fact, I love 300 Ham’r so much that I built a 300 Ham’r pistol with the 11.3” barrel. If I didn’t already have a sh!tload of .223 and 5.56 ammo I would convert all my .223’s to Ham’rs. My Grendal will still outdistance my Ham’r, but from 500 yds and in, the Ham’r hits way harder. Can’t say enough good things about this caliber and how well it shoots from an AR15 platform. If you’re thinking about one, do it! You won’t be sorry!
