Caliber Notes: The 300 HAM'R was designed to provide maximum muzzle energy and penetration when fired from an AR rifle. In fact, it offers similar performance as the .308 Winchester cartridge while outperforming the classic 30-30 hunting rifle - a proven favorite among hunters for generations. The 300 HAM'R cartridge is a force to be reckoned with, showcasing 18% more retained velocity, 40% greater energy, and a 56% flatter trajectory than the 300 BLACKOUT at 200 yards! Not to mention its remarkable accuracy and low recoil in an easily manageable AR platform rifle that uses the standard 5.56 Bolt. To ensure maximum reliability we recommend using a 300 Blackout magazine for optimal performance.

    Getting better by the year

Posted by Roger champ jr on Apr 14th 2024

So now that supply chain issues and production issues w powder and bullets are better now, I’m using shooters world blackout and 1680 with Speer 125 gr hp bullets and getting 3/4 inch groups. My barrel will shoot the hornady fmj 125 gr but like I said above in my previous review they really don’t set the world on fire. That’s ok really. The Speer hp are really cheap (about as cheap as hornady fmj) but I’m ok w 1 1/2 inch groups 10 shots from lowsy fmj bullets that cost under 25 per 100. Kind puts me in the mode of having a throttled up 762x39 because I’m loading cheaper than the x39, I have more velocity than the x39, and the casings are converted which your not really able to do economically w the x39, and also my x39 will not shoot 1 1/2 inch at 100 yards. I’m super happy w my barrel. Going to probably get another when my nickles stack high enough.

    So far so good!

Just got this barrel in tuff coat fde. Looks amazing on my rig and have a couple groups shooting 3/4 moa on 3 shot groups. Some loads it doesn’t like, like the TNT 135 I believe, it’s a 2inch group, loves the hornady VMax 110s and sig 125s. I ordered a slew of other ammo to try from Wilson and will update if able too.

    Very Nice

Posted by ETB on Aug 16th 2023

I recently been hog hunting and I wanted to build a AR platform hog gun. I finally built my hog gun using the 18 inch 300 Ham’r barrel, once I set my scope the accuracy has been amazing. I have been using the 130 gr HHC rounds and hope to take it on my next hog hunt.

    Highest Quality

Posted by Mike Leger on Sep 11th 2022

Just received this barrel. The quality is perfect. Very glad I spent the extra money. Looking forward to building my upper receiver and getting out to the range. This will be my first taste of 300 HAM'R. Since I am not a military sniper, I don't know why I need to reach out beyond 7 football fields. Everybody with an AR-15 ought to have an upper for 300 HAM'R. Thanks Wilson Combat for an uncompromising product!

    18" Hunter Barrel

Posted by John Brasfield on Apr 17th 2022

I've recently purchased this barrel and haven't developed a load that is super accurate yet but good enough for hunting hogs. I recently shot a sow and a piglet at close range. The sow was about 30 yards and the 130 grain hot core went through her with a lung shot. She dropped instantly. It hit her very hard. The piglet was devastated with a quick shot to the face. Barrel is beautiful with the custom cerakote paint we applied. Really nicely made. This will be fun!

    Nailing It

Posted by Roger Champ Jr on May 10th 2021

Well to be honest I was hoping for sub moa w the barrel, however, what I did end up w was a barrel that no matter if I shot 3 shots, 5 shots, or even 10 shots at a medium pace without a break......getting that barrel warmer and warmer, I’m nailing these 100 yard groups consistantly 1 1/4-1 1/2 inches w max imr 4198 and the cheapest fmj hornady bullets you can buy. If I had better powder and better bullets would my accuracy be better? Probably. Has this failed to excite me and cause me to give up? Nope not at all. After I fired that 10 shot group at 100 w my 7 power Nikon and I had 6 inside a inch and the other 4 caused the measure of 1 1/2 inch I said “dang roger this isn’t bad considering your using the only stuff you can find to load. I hope I do better later but I love this barrel so far.
