Caliber Notes: 5.56 NATO was developed in the United States and initially chambered in the M16 rifle. It is the standard cartridge for NATO forces as well as many non-NATO countries. It is derived from, but not identical to, the .223 Remington cartridge. We use a NATO, mil-spec chamber in our barrels that is reliable and safe to fire both 5.56 and .223 Remington rounds. This common and easy-to shoot cartridge is ideal for defense, training and small-medium game hunting.

I purchase my recon barrel from Brownell's in 2020 or 2021, I have over 300 pictures on my phone with with sub half inch groups many a quarter and over 100 stacking shots, I have used Speer 70gr on 4064 24gr flat and i have used Privi partizen 69gr on several powders, I have used 62gr Sierra and 55 gr Hornady's and there is not a damn thing this barrel does not shoot under a half inch or less on handloads of 4064 , varget CFE, and several other powders, I have shot Krieger, shilen er shaw, barrels this is the most accurate least finicky barrel I have ever owned in my life and i am some where north of 16 to 20 thousand rounds a year since 1993 and I turned 18, its crazy I have built .308s, 300 win mag, 280 and many calibers on many barrels and this AR15 a semi auto has been the most accurate and predictable barrel i have ever owned in my life, the craziest part is i have had groups at 1/4 with mixed brass and primers on 4064 and still punch a 1/4 inch it defies all the logic i know about accuracy and how its obtained by punching dime sized groups all day long and if you can do it you can punch clovers all day with matching and weighed brass.
I recently zeroed my PSA AR-15 and I was delighted that I clover leafed the three round group using this Wilson Combat barrel. This is my second barrel and as always they put out quality product.
Wilson barrels are all I buy for AR builds after I purchased the first one a few years back. I just ordered another one and 6.5 Grendel.
I purchased this barrel for a lightweight build I would use for taking carbine classes. Since the classes are two 8-hour days, and we would be on our feet with the AR slung all day, weight was a primary concern, but without accuracy and reliability, weight means nothing. So while this is no DMR, it shoots match ammo at just over 1 MOA and is 100% reliable. The intermediate gas system softens the recoil, with is a plus with a carbine this lightweight. Very pleased with my purchase, I would buy this barrel again.
My very first build and I wanted to maximize price and performance with the parts selection. I also wanted the barrel and BCG to match for best possible headspace fit. Wound up purchasing the barrel, BCG, gas block and tube as a complete package, all at a great price. Installed flawlessly into an AP M4E1 receiver set and looks amazing! Really appreciate the dimpled barrel as a first-time builder, and the assurance that all the parts matched. This will be my wife's rifle, hence the requirement for the light weight and 'pointability' of the Ranger barrel. Perfect. Super happy with all of the parts and the completed build. Now I want one too!
This barrel is stupid accurate and the quality and workmanship are a work of art.
This is my 4th WC barrel (2 in 308 and 2 in 556), all perform beyond belief. I shoot 1-1.5 MOA with my factory Colt (AR15A4) and FN Military M16, but I consistently group sub MOA with all my WC barrels, granted that’s from a bench but the difference is noticeable. Fit and finish are superb. WC has me as a customer for life.
