Wilson Combat
You can trust the nickel boron Wilson Combat Bolt Carrier Assembly for 6.5 Grendel, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this BCG will provide reliable performance when you need it most.
Constructed with precision, the nickel boron Wilson Combat Bolt Carrier Assembly for 6.5 Grendel ensures performance and reliability when you need it most. This bolt carrier assembly has been precision machined from aerospace-grade 9310 tool steel, providing superior toughness and durability. It's even gone through Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to ensure optimal performance. For added strength and reliability, the carrier is constructed from 8620 hardened steel with forward assist cuts, while the gas key is properly staked using grade 8 fasteners so there are no worries about gas leakage or failure under pressure. To top it off, this BCG features a corrosion-resistant nickel boron coating for increased lubricity and smoother cycling of your rifle.
NOTE: The only difference between “semi-auto” and “full-auto” carriers are the carrier weight and external profile. The “full-auto” carrier is slightly heavier to provide more mass and lower cyclic rate that can benefit carbine length and shorter gas systems, short barreled/suppressed rifles and machine guns. The “semi-auto” carrier is slightly lighter to provide the least amount of recoil impulse for rifle length gas systems and it's design makes reinstalling the firing pin easier after cleaning.
The finish after just 44 total rounds fired over 3 trips to the range is stained and fading even with cleaning every trip. The worst part is the NIB bolt itself. Don't know if Wilson Combat source's the Type II bolt out or make's that part of the BCG in house but it sticks so bad. It was so carbon fouled after just 7 rounds fired last trip that I had a tough time pulling the bolt out of the carrier out to clean it. The Bolt looks like it is banging up the inside face of the barrel extension forward of the lands too which just seems odd. This is just the 3rd AR I have built, and this is my first Grendel, so the knowledge is still coming drip by drip. But to make a short story even longer...the bolt wouldn't go into battery a lot of the time and rounds would just stack up on top of each other. This would be after the first shell fired failing of course to load another. Can be numerous things I understand and have sorted out and eliminated and spent needless $$ but the fact that my brass has been getting chewed up and gouged on the base rim edges every round since round one leads one to believe this bolt or extractor is problematic. I read that some people are just pitching the rubber donut inside the extractor I understand then some re-install it later. They were having the same exact issues with brass and fail to feed problems.
This BCG is phenomenal! I bought it to use in my 6mm ARC build and it performs flawlessly! This paired with the other parts in my build have it shooting accurate as can be, I have not reached out to 1,000 yards yet, but with this BCG, that should be no issue for the rifle, I just need to do my part!!!
