Performance enhancer!
I purchased this full size guide rod and flat wire spring combo for my Sig STX. At first the spring is a little stiff but once broken in you can definitely tell the difference. The force projects directly into the upper palm between the thumb and forefinger, placing the energy directly to the rear and maintaining greater sight picture for follow-up shots. The factory spring with small guide rod allowed the energy disbursement to kick the gun in an upwards manner where the energy was uncontrolled and made for more complicated follow-up shots. I recommend this for any 1911 owner that wants greater precision in performance and function!

Really nice piece!
No issues at all, using it with their keyed, bull barrel spring cup, after drilling it to work with this rod & flat wire spring.

Great
I have these in all my 1911 pistols along with the 17 lb flat wire recoil spring.

Niiiiice. Works good with the flat main spring.
So I ordered the matching flat wire spring some time ago for my Colt 1911 in 9mm to replace the twin-spring factory set-up. This was not available then so I had to cool my jets until it was back in stock. Pretty excited to get it and did the install immediately. So far so good. WC= no failures.

Glad This Kit Has A Hole In The Guide Rod
I bought a Wilson standard FLGR a long time ago before they released the flat wire version. That one didn't have a hole for a take down tool, aka paper clip. Because of this, I had to take it down the standard way using a bushing wrench.

Great
This is the first thing I put in my new 1911 pistols along with a 17 pound flat wire recoil spring.

Dropped Right In!!
I have no idea why Sig elected to install a two piece, yes it’s a two piece GI style guide rod in their 1911s. I got tired of always have to retightening it each after use. Wilson Combat to the rescue…these one piece flat wire full length guide rods just dropped in without fitting whatsoever! Tightened up the slide to frame fit but the slide racks smooth as butter and no issues whatsoever!

3 Total
I have purchased 3 of these guide rods along with Wilson Combat flat wire recoil springs. One went into a government Springfield Armory stainless Range Officer 9mm with 13 lb spring (I sold this gun to a friend), one in a government Sig Sauer TACOPS 1911 10mm with 24 lb spring, and one in a government Dan Wesson Vigil 9mm with 13 lb spring. I don't have to use a bushing wrench and I grab the slide for a press check, therefore I don't have the usual complaints about a full length guide rod. Needless to say they work perfectly.
