Excellent fit/function -- slight relief needed on grip panel

Posted by 2D Man on Mar 28th 2024

If you pay attention to the many YouTube videos, this is reasonable to install. Fit and tolerances were exactly like factory. Definitely improved my ability to drop a mag. Needed to slightly relieve the grip panel to have full throw of the button (although it DID work without the relief). I used a countersink in a drill press. Mounted the grip panel in a wood block.

    Too much work/oversized

Posted by Terrence on Feb 8th 2024

I have numerous OEM mag releases that all drop-in no problem. This and the other Wilson Combat Extended mag release for Berettas required me to do a lot of filing to numerous flat areas on the pieces until they could even slide through the holes on each side of the frame. Unfortunately, my frame got a bit scratched during the fitting process because of how much test fitting I had to do.

Do Not Buy If You Have Beretta 92Fs

Posted by Luis Rodriguez on Mar 12th 2022

I bought the extended mag release but it doesn't even fit into the gun and can't say i don't know how because I've changed out my mag release multiple times. I thought it was just me so I went on YouTube and there was also acouple well known YouTubers who also had the same exact issue with the Wilson Combat extended mag release. Just do what I did and buy it from Beretta its what I did and its what everyone suggested and I haven't had no issue, the one from Beretta just popped right in. Wilson Combat robbed me let's see if they can make it right

    Excellent Upgrade Pita To Install

Posted by Andrew Z on Nov 12th 2021

Massive improvement over factory mag release and looks nice on the pistol. The installation will give you fits though. I've done the G conversion, D spring with steel trigger conversion, swapped the sights, etc. This was by far the most frustrating out of everything.

    Does Not Fit (Without Filing)

Posted by Jay Armstrong on Jun 30th 2021

Tried to fit it on my 92A1 but did not fit because the edge near the button is not machined the same way as the original beretta release. It's a decent quality release but does not fit into the release slot without adjustment

    Takes Some Time To Install

Posted by Scott on Oct 20th 2020

I added this part to my M9, getting the old magazine release out was easy, just take off the grips and push on the non release side. Getting the new one in, took a bit of time, there are some good youtube how to videos, but you have to get the magazine spring release tabs, between the slots on the frame. I got it close then took a small screw driver and push on the release tab to push it in, worked better for me than pushing down on it. No filing down the part was needed.
