Not quite drop in but fantastic
Had to take a small amount of material out of the spring hole so that the "plunger part" that goes into the top of the spring would slide into the hole. Tolerances are tight but I expected no less from Wilson Combat and my Springfield mil spec SS 1911 is over 30 years old. The build was fun and educational and I absolutely LOVE this old 45 now! Helps me keep my hand right up tight to the new Wilson Combat beavertail I installed and the gun feels like part of my hand now.

Funky but fine!
With a little polishing for the grip safety to unstick, the fit was really fine. The V grip feels a little funky at first but I’m liking it! Especially shooting one handed. Great replacement for Kimber plastic!

V-Grip Mainspring Housing Is A Winner!
Since I usually prefer arched mainspring housings and short triggers on my 1911s, I thought Id give this V-Grip a try and Im glad I did. This MSH helps keep my hand up tight under the beavertail for the highest hold possible. Other pluses - perfect drop-in fit, stainless finish matches my Stainless Wilson beavertail, clean 30 LPI checkering, fits perfectly flush with the bottom of the grip.

Better Than Expected
I purchased this MSH as an upgrade from my stock, flat housing. When it arrived, I began to swap out the internal parts, but discovered that my stock mainspring would not fall into the housing Wilson warns that minor fitting may be needed. Fortunately I had purchased a Custom Tune Spring Kit from WC last year, only I didnt replace the mainspring. Once located, I tried it out, and it dropped in without issue! After reassembly, I marveled at how amazing it felt in my hands, and it looked great on my 1911. I cant comment on MSHs from other companies, but I can vouch for the quality and fit of this one. Ive made multiple purchases through WC now, and they keep building my confidence to continue doing so.

Disappointed
Absolutely did not fit my CQB elite. Was replacing the regular MSH and speed chute. I had to figure out the where and why of the lack of fit and file down quite a bit of metal until it would slide in all the way. Of course had I known I would not have black armor tuffed it when I ordered it.
