Wilson Combat

The heart of every Recon Tactical is our unsurpassed Wilson Combat match-grade medium-weight stainless steel barrel designed for superior accuracy and sustained high rates of fire.  The Recon Tactical is our vision of what a practical, all-around AR for rigorous tactical training, hardcore hunting, or all-purpose field applications should be.  Loaded with Wilson Combat's custom features and accessories, this popular model has never been better.

The industry standard 1-14 twist barrels seem to be the best choice for over 350-grain bullets and/or subsonic loads and will shoot all suitable bullet weights acceptably well. We recommend this twist rate if you use a suppressor to eliminate the chance of a baffle strike. The SOCOM is also capable of launching 500- 600 grain bullets at subsonic velocities for suppressed or tactical use.
