    Not for Ruger P90DC

Posted by David on Sep 20th 2025

Needed a replacement for a Ruger P90DC magazine that has a metal star follower that gouges the inside of the pistol. Unfortunately this is not it. Cost of original shipping and return shipping isnt worth returning.

    FITS 1990s MEC-GAR 8 ROUND 1911 MAGAZINE - DISCONTINUED

Posted by First Last on Aug 9th 2023

I have a number of the original Mec-Gar 8 round .45acp magazines. The springs are worn and while they still feed well, they have low tension. Mec-Gar told me to throw them away and buy new magazines from them, as they don't make springs for their old models. Wow! Really? The new Mec-Gar mags would not even release out of my magazine well in a well used Springfield 1911. My time tested Mec-Gars have had no problems in 3 decades but they are discontinued. Leave it to Wilson Combat, to be a Good Old Actual American Company, which makes springs for old magazines. I purchased 4 different .45acp mag spring kits and this one fit and worked in my old Mec-Gar mags. I was so impressed by Wilson Combat, that I then purchased 3 new Wilson Combat 47DCB magazines for my carry weapon. I will load up the old Mec-Gars to use in classes I teach so I won't have to monkey with R&R on my carry mags every time. I love my new Model 47 magazines, they work perfectly and are more concealable than the old Mec-Gar mags. Wilson Combat has an Old Retired LEO now as yet another devoted customer.
