Controlled Chaos bullets offer the best of both worlds when it comes to ballistic performance. This bullet is optimal for use in 6.5mm Grendel loads.
Please note that these are bullets (projectiles) only for reloading. This product is not loaded ammunition that is ready to use in a firearm.
There are two philosophies when it comes to bullets. One believes rapid expansion, moderate penetration, and weight loss are best, while the other believes that moderate expansion, deep penetration, and virtually no weight loss are best. Both have their virtues and applications, but why settle for one or the other when you can have both?
Controlled Chaos ® bullets offer the best of both. Once fluid is impacted, they shed the front portion of the bullet into multiple petals that radiate outward away from the bullets initial trajectory path resulting in a massive energy spike. The bore diameter base of the bullet continues and penetrates deeply in a straight line. Both the temporary and permanent wound cavity created by this bullet separation is dramatic resulting in quick incapacitation. The solid base creates additional tissue damage and often results in full penetration of the animal.
The Controlled Chaos ® bullet doesn’t expand or fragment when it impacts hard barriers like drywall, only when it impacts fluid, where it expands, fractures, and does its devastation.
No other bullet on the market offers the accuracy and repeatable terminal performance of the Controlled Chaos ®.
Controlled Chaos ® bullets are currently available in the following diameters: .204, .224, .243, .257, .264, .277, .284, .308, .311, .355, and .358.
Solid copper Controlled Chaos ® bullets meet the criteria of states and jurisdictions calling for lead-free projectiles.
GREAT BULLET. My 10 YEAR old first deer. I told him to tuck it in right behind the front shoulder of a doe, it was 4 min before it would be to late to shot, my son proceeds to tuck the bullet just in front of the deers hind quarter an inch low of the spine. The doe ran ten feet and dropped like a stone the artery that runs the length of the spine was destroyed and would have left a nice blood trail if she made it to the wood line. Impressed with the bullet. We will be working on marksmanship this spring and summer.
Used this bullet in a 18 inch 6.5 TCU contender single shot rifle at 2297 FPS and shot a 350 lb hog from a tree stand at 75 yards in a Vally diagonally. There was a 3 1/2 inch hole through the spine with multiple holes on the other side instant dirt nap. A second hog came by a short time later and was 200 lbs shot next to the first one another Drt nap same results. These hogs were weighed on a fish scale. the 6.5 TCU is a 223 shell fire formed with a 40 degree shoulder with about the same power as a Grendel and this was a reduced load but still worked great at this lower velocity. this is a great bullet.
I have pushed these out of my custom built 26 Nosler LR Varmint gun at 4043fps when everybody else's bullets come apart as soon as they left the barrel and they still cut .3 moa groups and vaporize large varmints. Love these things!
Worked up a good overlapping load out of an 18" Grendel Hunter. My son and two hunting buddies shot this bullet last hunting season to take a combined 5 whitetails. Two words, . . . . Dirt Nap. Unable to speak on blood trails. They just DROP! Excellent round for confidence building in youth hunters also.
45.6 grains of Reloader 16 gets me right at 3150 fps out of a 26in barrel
I have a self-build 6.5 Grendel with an Oden Works 20" match grade barrel. Handloads with 29.4 gr. of IMR 8208XBR produces consistent 1/2" groups at 100 yards. With a MV of 2750 fps, these rounds are devastating on hogs and deer. The internal organ damage from these bullets is eye-opening. If not DRT, all harvest were found within 20 yards from where they were hit. This is my new go-to hunting bullet. Thanks, Lehigh, for make such a great product.
Very impressed 18 deer 1 fox with these now , up to now only one deer took 8-9 steps then collapsed.
Took a nice 8 Pointer with the 110 CC at 200 yards. 16.5" 6.5 Creedmoor TC Dimension switch barrel rifle being shot suppressed with a Deadair Sandman-S. Impact velocity of 2530. Bullet entered last rib back. Shot angling directly towards the opposite front shoulder. Liver was ripped apart and the right lung was liquified. No exit wound. Trauma was all contained to the right side vitals. Part of the vertebrae was also hit. Very impressive results. Deer collapsed then regained its feet. Made it 30 yards and it was over. My shot was farther back than I wanted due to it moving away so quickly. It was me, not the gun or the bullet flight that made the less than desirable hit. .25 MOA using Lapua brass, CCI 200 and H4350. Don't expect a blood trail. Expect a DRT with a well placed shot.
I rarely write reviews for bullets but this one is an exception. Hands down the best bullet I have ever experienced for hunting in the Grendel. I've taken whitetail deer between 100 and 200 yds and have yet to be disappointed. Every deer has been a pass-through with multiple exit wounds and a blood trail that a blind man could follow. Internals are mush and the exit side looks like it was hit with buckshot. Excellent performance every time. I am capable of sub inch groups at 100 yds with both my Howa and my Ruger American. The only bullet I will use in the Grendel for hunting.
