Controlled Chaos bullets offer the best of both worlds when it comes to ballistic performance. This bullet is optimal for use in .260 Remington, .264 Winchester Magnum, and 6.5mm Creedmoor loads.
Please note that these are bullets (projectiles) only for reloading. This product is not loaded ammunition that is ready to use in a firearm.
There are two philosophies when it comes to bullets. One believes rapid expansion, moderate penetration, and weight loss are best, while the other believes that moderate expansion, deep penetration, and virtually no weight loss are best. Both have their virtues and applications, but why settle for one or the other when you can have both?
Controlled Chaos ® bullets offer the best of both. Once fluid is impacted, they shed the front portion of the bullet into multiple petals that radiate outward away from the bullets initial trajectory path resulting in a massive energy spike. The bore diameter base of the bullet continues and penetrates deeply in a straight line. Both the temporary and permanent wound cavity created by this bullet separation is dramatic resulting in quick incapacitation. The solid base creates additional tissue damage and often results in full penetration of the animal.
The Controlled Chaos ® bullet doesn’t expand or fragment when it impacts hard barriers like drywall, only when it impacts fluid, where it expands, fractures, and does its devastation.
No other bullet on the market offers the accuracy and repeatable terminal performance of the Controlled Chaos ®.
Controlled Chaos ® bullets are currently available in the following diameters: .204, .224, .243, .257, .264, .277, .284, .308, .311, .355, and .358.
Solid copper Controlled Chaos ® bullets meet the criteria of states and jurisdictions calling for lead-free projectiles.
Just started loading these and my 65 PRC. Averaging 3152 ft./s. Half inch group at 200 yards. Looking forward to hunting season.
Have used the 130CC out of a 6.5PRC on several hog hunts. Is the ticket for a quick dirt nap!
It didn't take long coming up with a very respectable handload for my .260 Rem. The McGowen Barrel loves these bullet & the combinate of Lapua Cases, Winchester 6.5 Ball Powder & Winchester LR Primers every thing came together in 4 - 5 shot group test firings with a group of 0.390" @ 100 yards. Now to place a order for 3 more boxes Great bullet!
fired for a tikka ctr 260 rem, 20'', 1-8'', fed. brass, fed. match primers, 6.5 staball and temp. around 30 degrees. just in case there's someone out there thinking "staball powder, temp. don't matter". i try to test in temps. i expect to hunt in. there's a big factor of expansion and contraction of everything else being used. any who, since i only have a 20" barrel compared to their 24" i started high with my charges in loads. i shot 4 grps that were 3/4"- 1"ish till i got velocities up to the 2750 fps range. next 2 loads were .531" and .491" at 2791 fps. this was good enough for my possible hunting distances. ended up shooting a deer at only 45ish yards., lucky for the 1/2'' loads! it was traveling through a messed-up row of trees and i hit him further back than i wanted and exited towards the back of the lungs. with a less than desirable shot placement the deer only went maybe 20 yds and down without a twitch. on the exit side there was a round patch of blood soaked fur approx. 7" area. i forgot to examine closer but i would guess to say there was multiple exit wounds that helped put him down quicker than a traditional bullet. if i continue testing i might get smaller groups but i just don't need it.
Living in the communist State of Commifornia we are required to use non-lead bullets. I usually run a 140gr, or 147gr, projectile to hunt, but it’s been very hard to find non-lead bullets for my 6.5cm I built off a Tikka action. I used a load recipe that was similar to that from the Hornady A-Tip 132’s. 39.2 gr of H4350, with Fed primers, .02 off the lands. Only had 50 projectiles, so got lazy and didn’t load up 5 or 6 loads like I usually do when working up a load. Fired a 4 round group in .5 MOA, with a ES of 3, and a SD of 1.4, (those are crazy good numbers!!!), a high velocity of 2,643fps, low of 2,640fps, Ave. 2,641fps. I wouldn’t hesitate to use these on deer, or anything else in the U.S. Maybe a little higher velocities for elk, if found a node that shot well.
Was able to take my first two deer this past week with the 130 grain controlled chaos. Both deer we're over 225 yards and both were dead on the impact.
Just received the bullets, good looking bullet and can't wait to try them out. Wish I would have known about these a little sooner just got done with hunting a couple weeks ago.
My first time using all copper bullets, great accuracy out of both my kids guns using Lehigh's published data. 344 yard shot on mature mule deer, full penetration leaving a mess on the inside and a silver dollar exit wound! Less expensive than a lot of bonded bullets but still achieves the same result.
This week I took these bullets hunting for Utah mule deer. 6.5 prc going just over 3200 get per second. 260 yard shot. Deer didn't even take a step. These are now my go to hunting bullets.
