The concept of a Wide Flat Nose (WFN) projectile is nothing new or groundbreaking, but it does leave room for improvement. Lehigh Defense has taken this proven technology, and incorporated it into our very own lineup of improved WFN’s made of solid copper.
The advanced technology Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic (XD FTM) is revolutionizing the perception of self-defense. This bullet is optimal for use in .44 Special, .44 Magnum, as well as 444 Marlin.
Please note that these are bullets (projectiles) only for reloading. This product is not loaded ammunition that is ready to use in a firearm.
The concept of a Wide Flat Nose (WFN) projectile is nothing new or groundbreaking, but it does leave room for improvement. It is a proven projectile design that has been around for many years and has successfully been utilized by hunters all over the world who demand deep and straight-line penetration for their hunt. Lehigh Defense has taken this proven technology, and incorporated it into our very own lineup of improved WFN’s made of solid copper.
Lead has a very high density and does a great job at penetrating deep, but it lacks any real structural integrity. Lead is quite soft, especially when compared to copper. Our solid copper WFN line of projectiles have a tensile strength of 10-20x greater than conventional lead projectiles. This massive increase in strength allows our WFNs to punch through the hardest of bone with little to no deformation, which nearly eliminates the possibility of deflection due to the projectile deforming.
Lehigh Defense has recreated the WFN lineup with strategically designed meplats for deep penetration and proper feeding, relief bands to maximize the cartridges velocity potential, and the added strength of solid copper as opposed to lead. The Wide Flat Nose from Lehigh Defense is an excellent choice for hunters that demand the absolute strongest and deepest penetrating solid copper projectile on the market.
Available for both big bore rifles and handguns for popular calibers.
Wide Flat Nose bullets are available in the following caliber diameters: .375, .400, .416, .429, .452, .458, .475 and .500.
Solid copper Wide Flat Nose bullets meet the criteria of states and jurisdictions calling for lead free projectiles.

Accurate
I tested loaded ammo from Buffalo Bore using these .44 Magnum bullets fired from S&W 629 6” factory ported at 50 yards. They shot approximately 4” low vs a variety of 240gr lead/copper flat nose and hp bullets with similar muzzle velocities. Average muzzle velocity of the Buffalo Bore 265gr solid copper was 1,269fps. Accuracy was very consistent with 14 rounds fired and printed inside of 2” @ 50 yards. In my pistol, they are very accurate vs 305gr hardcast from Underwood that printed groups like buckshot. I am also in California where non-lead is the law for hunting. These are now my go to bear bullets and if the opportunity presents itself at a reasonable distance inside of 100 yards, I wouldn’t hesitate to use these rounds on game.

Hog Blaster
Loaded some of these up for my Henry X rifle. Shooting approx 1.25" groups at 50 yards with a red dot. Headed for the Cyprus swamps in eastern NC. Remember that story of the three little pigs? There's only one left. Head shots at night by flashlight. Just love this bullet as a hog blaster.

.44 Remington Magnum, M629-2, Hunter, 6" Barrel, S&W
I wish I could upload a picture to show my load and target data. That would be a lot easier. I shot a 2.5" group at 25 yards with this bullet. (6 shots) AA#7 = 17.0 grains. OAL = 1.583" Average Velocity = 1309 FPS Standard Deviation = 27.26 I really like these bullets. I am going keeping working this load to see if I can bring it in some. These going to be my defense load. They a little pricey so I am hoping to only have to work do testing one or two more times.

Shoots Great
Preliminary testing has delivered some fantastic results in a ruger 96/44. Very impressive @ 100 yards. I can't wait to get on some close range hogs with this bad boy
