If you're looking for improved control and comfort while shooting, the drop-in beavertail grip safety is perfect - it eliminates any discomfort or hammer bite that can come with stock grip safeties. Plus, to return your gun back to its original state, just reinstall the factory part! Our drop-in safety works great with commander style hammers and bobbed spur hammers alike; because of slight variations from one pistol to another, however, minor modifications may be needed in order for proper operation.

As Good as Drop-in Gets!
I replaced the "duckbill" grip safety on my Colt LW XSE Commander with a Wilson drop-in 15 years ago and have found no reason to replace it. I don't remember fitting being difficult and it makes shooting the pistol more natural to me. It does have small gaps around the frame stubs, but that is unavoidable with a drop in part.

Purchased Commander model. Quality of the grip safety is great but had more issues than most fitting it to the frame.

Easy Fit, Great Quality
It took a total of 15 minutes to disassemble , fit the new grip safety and reassemble my 1970s Colt combat commander.

Reviewing This Product And Wc Customer Service Rep
I recently ordered this and a number of other parts from WC including finishing a S-70 Govt. Model with Armor Tuff which is still in the process. Great Up-Grade For Your Colt
The fit and finish on this part was excellent, allowing me to add a Beavertail to my Colt without cutting up the gun. There was only minor fitting required on the trigger contact area. If you own a Colt and are looking to up-grade the grip safety, Wilson has you covered. Pros: everything Cons: none

429Sc, Not A Drop In
I ordered the 429SC drop in beavertail for my Coly combat commander series 70. When I went to install it I had to file the bottom of the beavertail in order to get it to fit in the frame. I expected to fit the spur that contacts the hammer. Once installed it works and looks great.

Needs Fitting For Colt Officer Model
I bought this safety due to it said that it would be. A drop in for the Officer models. Unfortunately it will not. But with hand filing and many measurements with the micrometer I was able to get a custom fit and it works perfect. Note that I do gunsmithing on the side and felt comfortable doing this. If you don’t know what to do bring it to a gun smith.

Colt Defender 45Acp
I have 12 yrs of Gunsmithing and would " Not Recommend " anyone not familiar with any type of 1911 gunsmithing attempt this install, As I would of gave it 5 stars but the Fitting is to the Extreme alot of Filing. It is Not a Drop in and for Wilson Combat to list it at that is wrong. As I installed it along with Wilson Combat Stainless steel Mainspring Housing on my Colt Defender 45acp when it was Finished it is Sound and works like Factory and Looks Awesome compare to the Factory Duck bill. If I could attach pics I would and again Thanks Wilson Combat. Kevin H.
