Wilson Combat® has been supplying serious shooters and professionals with the worlds' most reliable and durable .45 auto magazines for the past 30 years. They are used by the worlds' most Elite U.S. Army SPEC OPS unit, FBI SWAT, Thunder Ranch and professionals worldwide. NO other .45 magazine on the market can compare for proven inherent reliability, durability and the ability to remain fully loaded for long periods of time without damage. Our magazine springs are specially fabricated from the highest tensile strength heavy duty spring wire for long service life enhanced feeding and positive slide stop operations. Our magazine bodies are manufactured from .025" (the thickest in the industry) aircraft grade certified 17-7 PH stainless steel and heat treated for maximum durability and service life. Our dimensional tolerances are held so close that you will never encounter a Wilson magazine that doesn't drop free from your pistol or that your rounds are tight inside the tube as long as your pistol and ammo are close to proper specifications.
These 47 series .45 ACP magazines are simply the best I have ever tried. I can manually strip the cartridges from the magazine with my thumb, no nose diving into the front of the mag. This is important to me because it is somewhat difficult for me to rack the slide on my SA TRP repeatedly to clear a mag. Of course these mags function flawlessly and consistently lock the slide open after the final round. The fit and finish is beautiful. These are the only .45 ACP mags that I carry because I am willing to bet my life on them!
I have been using Wilson Combat magazines for over 30 years. I have several of the original 7 round 45acp magazines that are going strong after 30 years and they are as reliable now as they were when they were new. All added up, I have more than 100 Wilson Combat magazines. I highly recommend them to anyone with a 1911 regardless of caliber!
Shooting since 1964 at 4yo ( Iver Johnson Sidewinder .22), 1911s in 1968, competing in shoots with the 1911 in 1971 at 11yo. 34yrs. Ret L.E., PPC Team Service and carried a Commander and then a Springfield Champion as duty weapons, all with Mec-Gar mags. Mec-Gar has fallen on their faces as of recent. My mags were all from the 1990s and the springs have finally gotten weak. Mec-Gar said buy new mags, we have no springs to offer you, dispose of your beloved older mags. Our new ones are better anyway. The new Mec-Gar mags were not usable. I got two and both jammed in my mag well in my Champion having 25,000+ rounds fired over it's lifetime. They also hung up on rounds 1.25" length, when SAAMI lists a max of 1.75" The Mec-Gars became scarred up, requiring manually dragging them out of the mag well. What to do? I pulled the trigger on Wilson Combat mags. They scored a AAA+ for me. They went in and more importantly, out of, my Champion and my Operator like butter. They ran factory Remington Golden Saber 185gr. +Ps and even my deceased father's 1.25" handloads without a hiccup. I got a few “Military” WC springs in my order for my older Mec-Gars to rebuild them for practice shooting. I'll ONLY carry the Wilson Combat DCB mags. I started with one single 47DCB mag to carry in the weapon as it is shorter than the Wilson Combat 500 ETMs and this mag is black like my 2 1911s. It is just a little proud out of the mag well, enough to grab if I needed to hand extract it, but still not so much as to detract from concealing my weapon. I returned the 500s as they are a bit too long. I carry a 47DCB in my weapon and 2 DCBs for reloading. Overall, as a picky critical brutally honest old curmudgeon with a 1911 imprinted into my hand, I am pleased with my Wilson Combat Mag purchase. I'll stick with my .45 for now, but if I get too old to easily handle timed LEOSA qualifications with my Champion, I'll likely save my money and get a Wilson 2011 9mm carry for my last handgun purchase, if I get too old to shoot a .45 faster than others shoot their 9s, before they put me in the "cold, cold, ground."
I have some other Wilson Combat magazines back home and they work fantastic. I bought a new RIA full size, and the factory magazine was the weak link. As I am out of state, I ordered this magazine. Like a switch being pulled, it fixed the failure to feed problem!!!
My RIA full size 1911-A1 was having FTF problems with factory magazines. I replaced the factory magazine with this low profile magazine and it was like flipping a switch!!! The gun feeds any kind of ammunition now, without nose dive. I highly recommend this magazine!!!
If this aint perfection it sure is close to it! Color is consistent. I cant even see the seam. Initially was hard to load 8. But after a while they loosened up a little. The mags havent failed in three years. I trust them. I want these to be the only mags I use.
I do not know why every manufacturer of model 1911s does not just equip their pistols with Wilson magazines. Nothing performs like the Wilson magazine as far as reliability and consistent function. I recommend these magazines to all my friends and will continue to only purchase Wilson magazines. The color matches my Kimber Super Carry Pro HD, and the low profile base allows for concealability. The black finish is very rugged. When I purchase a new 1911 I throw away the original magazines and only use the Wilson mags.
I have used Wilson 47D magazines exclusively and with great satisfaction for over 10 years. I bought two 47DCB for my Commander as every day carry and love them. The component fit is perfect and the black finish is consistent and flawless. They lock into the gun positively and release cleanly also with complete ejection. The low profile steel base pad very compact on the bottom of the grip frame and the magazines feed and function perfectly...as expected. Great job!!
