NOTE: SHOK-BUFF® buffers are recommended for full-size (5" barrel) 1911's only. Due to space constraints, we do not recommend their use in compact (less than 5" barrel) 1911's. SHOK-BUFF® recoil buffers can be used with the EDC X9 and SFX9 4" handguns.

I use the shock-buff in my Wilson combat cqb along with the full length flat wire recoil Rod & 17lb flat wire recoil spring. Great combination.

I tried out a shock buff for the first time ever this weekend. Ordered one of these 6 packages for my 5 inch Springfield Garrison .45 and installed one. Tried it out in my Garrison this weekend and LOVED IT!! Shot 140 rounds of 230 gr. hardballs. Had only 1 feed failure NOT because of the shok buff, but the recoil spring wearing out. With the shok buff, the felt recoil was somewhat smoother and softer. As a 1911 shooter who rides the thumb safety, I remember my shooting thumb feeling the slightest bit sore afterwards. The shok buff eliminated that issue. My Springfield Garrison .45 is even more fun to shoot now than ever before!! Would absolutely recommend it!!!

High Quality, High Price
High quality part, works great in all my 1911's, but the shipping price is very high for the part's size and weight, and relatively slow. I ordered a similar size part from another company, shipping was $4.95 for USPS, and it arrived sooner.

I have a Kimber full size 45cal and I've been using WC shock buffers for quite some time, and they work great. I would recommend shock buffers from "Wilson Combat to anyone who wants to protect their .45cal and especially from Wilson Combat!!

Nice fit, cheap price, but wish a little softer
Nice to have a drop-in buffer pad that I didn't have to cut out myself. Would prefer that they were a little more compressible though.

I have no issues with these Shock Buffs
I have these Shok-Buffs in my Colt 9mm and 10mm 1911s. Both pistols run just fine with the shok-buffs in them. My Delta Elite has 4 to 5 thousand rounds through it without a cracked frame, so I'm going to assume the shok-buff is doing what it's supposed to do. I also have shok-buffs on either end of the operating rod in my mini 14. I do believe this reduces the felt slamming of the action while shooting.

I use these together with a full length spring guide. The slide locks back on my twenty year old Springfield Loaded Model.
