    Purchased one for a Colt Competition 1911 in 45 ACP. Shipping was fast, got it within 3 days of ordering it. The safety has a very positive and satisfying click when engaged. Great upgrade for the Colt, especially for this lefty!!

    Fitting information

    Purchased these for two S&W 1911 steel framed .45ACP pistols. The safeties required a lot of fitting as the mill cut where the safety is supposed to clear the frame in the hole was not nearly wide enough and had to be filed almost double the width of the mill cut. There was also quite a bit of fitment for the safety engagement wit the sear (more than the bulletproof safeties). Just in case you are purchasing this for a S&W 1911 made in 2005 or 2006 as you will have much work to get it to fit the frame properly. But it works.

    Not Such A High Ride After All

    This is literally the same profile as a stock STI/Staccato thumb safety. If you purchase this thinking you are getting a true high ride, you’ll be disappointed.

    Im a lefty and this is the best ambidextrous safety Ive seen. Wide lever on the right side for positive disengagement. Low contour for high thumb shooting. You wont go wrong Wilson Combat.

    Only required slight fitting by a gunsmith . Will definately buy other products to add to my 1911A1 mil spec. springfields quality and shootability.

    This safety is the only one Ive found that feels right and is comfortable after a long shooting day. Ive updated both my Springfields with this safety after being unhappy with the results of the reshaped stock safety.
