This ambidextrous safety made me fall in love with my Colt Combat Commander again. Now I'm getting one for my full size 1911A1, right out of the box.

    Thumb Safety Novice

Posted by Roy on Mar 1st 2014

I just installed my new thumb safety, along with a new sear and disconnect from Wilson Combat. I was very nervous, this being the first time I had ever installed a new thumb safety. I had never filed off any material in order to install new parts, and I was a little reluctant to mess with my safeties. This was a great experience though, and surprisingly, I got it right the first time. The safety works like a charm; it doesnt let the sear move one bit, and the stainless looks amazing in contrast to the black of my PT1911.
