Great Idea!
While I’ve never used the Wilson low ride safety (they weren’t around when I needed one), I did use the one sold by Brownell’s for years on a Wilson CQB that I used for LE duty carry. I have rather large hands and the 1911s, even with beaver tails, eat me alive. When using a low ride safety, that fixed the problem. Had Wilson made this safety at the time, I would have definitely used it. The Brownell, even though it worked fine, wasn’t as refined. I consequently got rid of all my 1911s (so sad) because I got tired of bloody hands! LOL. Now I think I’ll start picking up some more since I found out Wilson offers this great safety option. I have much .45 ACP to shoot up!

Perfect for small hands and short fingers
When coupled with a high ride grip safety conversion, I have no trouble with flicking off the safety and properly disengaging the grip safety. The only thing that could make this better would an ambidextrous version.

Improved Grip
My SA Ronin came with the extended thumb safety. When shooting with the extended TS and riding the TS I sometimes had issues with disengaging the grip safety. The Wilson lower lever is in a better position and fixed my issue. When I got the WC lower lever TS, I compared the SA TS and WC TS lugs. They looked near identical. The WC TS fit right in. I did the functionality test and worked out of box. Helped improved my grip.

Tactical Reality
Many items are touted as being tactical these days without having any actual basis but this Thumb safety by its very design improves the function as well as concealment of my Defender. Functions much like a traditional extended thumb safety but the lower placement of the lever as well as its narrow profile improves both the grip as well as concealment capabilities of the compact 1911. Like all bulletproof parts a bit pricey but worth the investment if you insist on the very best. Buy once, cry once, buy cheap, continue to weep

Dew Drop Inn
I must admit my purchase was to farkle my SA RO Compact. I checked the OEM safety and it had some filing on the sear release. The WC popped right in, no filing or stoning. Much smoother than original. It also looks very cool!

Thumb Safety Master Piece.
Many options available on the market but if your looking for the best thumb safety this is the one you need. Very slight fitting on my Kimber stainless II and work flawless.
