THUMB SAFETY, SINGLE SIDE, TACTICAL LEVER, 1911, BULLET PROOF, STAINLESS

You get what you pay for. I own a couple of Wilson's and love the fit and function of the Bullet Proof parts used. I am a student of the 1911 platform and enjoy working on a Springfield. Garrison I have test fit and realize that some adjustments will be necessary. I'm envious of those that say they dropped right in no fitting needed. I have replaced other parts on the Garrison that did just that. I was blown away. I watch for your sales and slowly upgrading the Garrison to my likes.

I bought a used Remington R1S Enhanced 1911. It was in great shape Nice matte stainless, but had a polished Colt thumb safety. I don't have the means to bead blast it. The Wilson Combat one was a perfect match finish-wise to the rest of the gun. The extended part is kinda nice and rests on top of the hogue grip when it's selected off. No filing needed either. Dropped it in and got a positive click engaement for safety on and off.

Great product. Almost drop in. Had to do a little sanding on the post that secures the grip safety but otherwise silky smooth operation right out of the package on a Rock Island 1911 GI 38 Super. Never have had a thumb safety fit as good without any filing to mate with the sear. Just perfect. Fits better than any thumb safety on any of my six 6 factory built 1911 type pistols.

Spend the extra money get the bulletproof sieries parts. I bought this thumb safety to replace the ambidextrous safetys that came standard on my Springfield 3 EMP 9 mm. To my surprise this safety dropped right in with no additional fitting necessary. Although I did prefer the feel of the bullet proof wide of lever safety for the size of my hands, as an every day carry the tactical lever was a better fit.

This is my second purchase of the SS BP tactical thumb safety for an EMP. After reading previous reviews, I tried to see if this would just drop in without any fitting. To my surprise, IT DID! No expensive trip back to SACS for custom fitting! I wonder if I paid for previous fitting that I didnt need on the last one? Way to go Wilson! Great product!

Doing further upgrades on my EDC Kimber I ordered this part plus a BP slide stop to match. Order arrived and had 2 issues. The safety was more of a polished finish instead of bead blasted like the slide stop. You could actually see relics of tool marks. Also, when in the UP position you could see the edge the window peeking out. Wilsons customer service took care of me right away. Sent them the part to swap out and had a very quick turnaround. The second part.. minor fitting required of course..it came back with the matching bead blasted finish. The window is still peeking out.. which could be a bit oversized from Kimber...but had the contour of the safety followed the contour of the grip it wouldnt be an issue. Still, Im gonna keep it on the gun. The angle and location of the lever is perfect for getting my thumb knuckle out of the way of the slide.. exactly what it was designed for.

I was shocked to see that this safety dropped in with no fitting. This is the third Wilson safety Ive installed in one of my guns, first to go in without fitting though! This safety is much snappier when switching from Safe to Fire, much nicer for concealed carry than the factory safety.

Even thou fitting was required not a big deal, the quality of this part is what really shines.

I purchased safety and slide stop both needed fitting on para GI expert. These look great.
