Caliber Notes: The 6.8 SPC (6.8x43mm) was initially developed by MSG Steve Holland and Chris Murray a United States Army Marksmanship Unit gunsmith to offer superior downrange lethality over the 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington in an AR pattern service rifle with minimal loss of magazine capacity and a negligible increase in recoil. The 6.8 SPC is also capable of outstanding accuracy and reliability. The 6.8 SPC will require a 6.8 caliber specific bolt and magazine for reliable function.

Looked for lighter alternative to .308 (hoped to find a 14.5" version) and selected this 16". I did need to check barrel port and ream it out a bit. Cycling and reliable ejection was totally workable with an SA adjustable gas block. Sounds like the first reviewer's builder didn't check the obvious. Built on V7 upper/lower, handguard and RCA ti-BCG it comes in at 4.75 lbs. Needs and H2 to calm things down but it gets the metal targets ringing out to 500 yds with factory ammo.
Used for a custom build by a well-known AR builder. First barrel had numerous FTE with Federal and Hornady factory ammo and produced 3-4 moa groups and keyholed Nosler 110 accubonds.
