The 6.8 SPC is also capable of outstanding accuracy and reliability. The 6.8 SPC will require a 6.8 caliber specific bolt and magazine for reliable function.

    6.8 SPC II, RECON, 16

Posted by Jim on Mar 15th 2026

I put together a 6.8 using the 6.8 SPC II, RECON, 16 barrel. It is a tack driver. I am so pleased with this gun. I have a DD 6.8 Spec II and it shoots very good but this rifle shots sub-MOA. I love it. Thanks Bill

    Superb accuracy

Posted by David on Sep 12th 2023

Incredibly accurate barrel. Out of the box stacking tight 1/2 MOA groups at 100 without much effort. Like Kyle, my best results were with 120 SST backed with AA2200. My only beef is that I got a bit older run barrel that required me to ream the gas port out using a #44 drill bit (known issue with older 6.8's from WC). Once I drilled the port out, the barrel performed flawlessly. Regardless of the gas port issues, I'm 100% impressed with the level of accuracy from this barrel and would certainly buy another if I decide to build another.

    Always Under 1/2

Ive built several ARs with this barrel and with good optics Ive had exceptional results. With Hornadys 120SST we regularly get sub 1/2 at 100 yards. Well worth the money and they look great too!
