With this Bullet Proof® High Ride Beavertail Grip Safety, you can enjoy improved comfort and control of your 1911 handgun.

Our Bullet Proof® version of the classic beavertail safety is machined from a high-grade steel bar stock that eliminates any flaws or imperfections present in many mass produced cast and molded parts. The Wilson compound joint radius makes fitting easy, while the modified grip safety arm provides convenient disassembly.  A pocketed rear tang for a recessed commander hammer and a raised rear tab for positive safety release will make this your preferred part for high end custom builds.

With the High Ride Beavertail Grip Safety, you can enjoy improved comfort and control of your 1911 Auto. This is possible due to its design that positions your shooting hand closer to the plane of the bore while evenly dispersing recoil across a wide rounded surface for an exceptional experience every time. Our High Ride Safety is designed for your safety, with a raised Posi-Release tab that allows you to quickly disengage the grip while serving as an anchor point so that you always keep the same grip. Additionally, the top of this feature features a hammer pocket which allows commander or bobbed spur hammers to nestle into it when cocked and remain snag-free during drawing. 

To install a Wilson High Ride beavertail, the frame must first be carefully cut. Fortunately, our fitting jig attaches to the hammer and thumb safety pin holes so that you can precisely file down your weapon without overcutting it. When done correctly, only a few thousandths of an inch should remain for final adjustments to ensure perfect alignment. To make sure you get everything right on your very first try, complete instructions are included with every purchase!

    The Best - Need an Undersized Version

    I loved the original version and the BP is just better in every way. Looks so perfect out of the box I almost hated to start sanding in it for the final blend. Wilson really needs to offer this same safety with a slightly undersized radius. There are thousands of Springfield 1911s out there cut to the Wilson radius and that would be a great way to fix the sloppy factory Beavertail fit, or for someone who overfiled the frame for their Wilson install.

    Another Outstanding Product From The Cornerstone Of The 1911.

    There is no doubt with serious shooters that the 1911 is the most proven and finest example of a combat handgun ever devised. With so many names that are synonymous with the 1911, Wilson Combat is number one on that list for proven accuracy, craftsmanship and reliability. I have been a 1911 advocate for years. However until I picked up my first Wilson Combat several years ago, I had no clue what a true custom gun was. I fell in love within seconds and have been with all Wilson products since. The adage is, you get what you pay for and I can personally attest, Wilson is worth every penny and more. All of my 1911s that are not Wilson, are fitted with at least 3 of their fine products. Im currently customizing one of my already Custom Shop 1911s. A $1,400 weapon not even broke in yet and Im already replacing parts with WILSON. This beavertail grip safety is the latest addition, along with Lo-Mount adjustable sights and Bullet Proof tactical thumb safety and slide release. Slight fitting was needed with the grip safety, but I could not be more pleased with the end results. From the grip screw all the way to the Classic Centennial, Wilson Combat products are second to none. Thanks for another great product.

    Along with the Wilson fitting jig, the Wilson Bullet Proof Beavertail will give you the perfect grip safety. If your upgrading your 1911 look at the Wilson Bullet Proof line of parts first.

    Fits Like A Glove.

    I recently had a full house custom built. When it came to parting it together I took my time in making a list of all the best parts taking into account quality, function and fit to me as an individual. This was the grip safety I selected. It was most certainly equal to the task. Not only does it look incredible, but most importantly: it works for me 100% of the time. Both the quality and ergonomics of this part are SPOT on. Piece of mind is everything. I get that with Wilson BP parts.
