    Perfect fit and upgrade

Posted by DGL on Mar 1st 2026

Recently bought a Balistik Defence Adam 1911 in 45acp, full size. The slide top was squared off so it was flush with frame on right side making it a tad difficult to push the slide stop for removal. The WC slide stop has the classic, rounded end that protrudes a bit past the frame, thus making it much easier to push the slide stop to the left for removal. Dropped in perfectly, no fitment required. Thanks, Wilson Combat…I also use your mags in 1911s since they work. God bless and keep up the quality work.

    Just worked.

Problem with a 1911 where the slide would not always lock back on an empty magazine. The original was a little short on the platform where the magazine follower is supposed to lift the slide lock. The Wilson slide lock has a much better purchase in that area. A check yesterday with 42 magazine changes from three different manufacturers had no problems. The Wilson slide lock "just worked". Thanks Guys and Gals.

bought my brand new Springfield Garrison 1911 45cal and from day one the slide stop was almost impossible to put back in had to use a pocket knife to hold between the pin and slide stop.well as you can guess slipped one day and you guessed it a small idiot scratch.that was the end of that ordered a Wilson combat and now goes in smooth as butter worth every penny.was able to get rid of the idiot scratch with birchwood blue kit.lesson learned.

    Slide Release

Posted by Marc Duchene on Nov 1st 2020

I replaced my factory slide release on my 1911 Military by ATI, with this slide release because the factory shaft was a bit short and hard to push out . This Wilson slide release shaft is the proper length and dropped in without fitting. Easy to field-strip now and has performed well!

    Great Slide Release Or Stop

Posted by Douglas Carnes on Jul 12th 2019

I have a few 1911s, ruger and smith and wesson, this release dropped in no problems. I had been having an issue with my slide releases jumping the follower and not locking the slide back. I got this release and it solved the problem. I noticed that this release is cut different than other releases and has a better purchase on the follower. It ran with no issues in my ruger but I had a lock back with rounds in the mag on my Smith and Wesson. I am pretty sure that was my thumb. I have that issue with that pistol and once I changed my grip it did not happen again. And my hands were getting CLP on them with things getting slippery. ha. This is a good slide stop if you are having issue with slide lock and or magazines.

    Awesome!

My slide release was not locking back the slide on the last round. After further investigation I found the stock slide release lip was barely catching the magazine follower to push it up to lock the slide. After installing the Wilson, it fully catches the magazine and locks the slide back perfectly and every time! The fit is perfect for my Tisas and will definitely purchase from Wilson again. Thank you.
