mixed feelings
I've used two of these in essentially a pair (different barrel lengths) of Aluminum 1911's going back to 2010. On my more-worn Commander-sized (4000-5000 rounds), the extended portion just randomly snapped off in a jagged fashion, apparently during a normal range session. It still functions but left jagged, sharp metal where I instinctively put my thumb. It was either protected in a leather holster or being fired the entire time. Sadly, I didn't notice until I sat down to clean today. Due to the jagged fracture, this appears to be MIM. I had always dismissed the negativity towards MIM parts as mostly paranoia, but I guess it can matter. These dropped right in, worked great for many years, and were very comfortable, but it is unsettling seeing one just break apart due to normal use. All things considered, I'll probably just stick with the original Kimber ones moving forward.

Tough fit
Good price but a total nightmare to fit with the gap being too small, the lug being huge, and the lever actually being so long that the corner interfered with my VZ G10 grips. Probably 8 hours of diagnosing and filing in total. Now it's very, very responsive, but I wish it hadn't been so difficult to fit. Would've paid double for a Bulletproof version that fit easier, no question.

Excellent
Fit my Springfield Armory GI model 1911 perfectly. I only had to remove a little material from the stock grip panel. Big improvement over the stock slide stop. I can now release the slide without changing my grip. Highly recommend.

9mm fitting is possible
tldr; Wilson, make one of these for 9mm. Not a semi extended, we need a full on extension. You can make this one work with some filing/dremel work. Comes with a head ache and not much info online. Full review: I wish someone left a review or instructions somewhere on the internet for me, but I learned by trial and error. I have a Rock Island 1911A2 Pro Match FS HC 9mm. I saw someone here say they threw this on their 9mm with no problems, so I bought it because I don't want the "semi-extended" (nudge nudge Wilson). After nearly 3 hours of trying to fit this sucker in, I learned that the slide release lug that runs through the frame and barrel needs to be thinned out a little. I took a Dremel and took a little past the blueing off of it and it was sufficient. You also need to take a circle file and file a half moon under on the block that touches the lower receiver so the slide release can angle down from the slide by just a tad. After that, I just lubed the the lug and the space where the barrel lug and the slide lug work to lift and lower the barrel into battery. You might need to file a little off that slope/hump also just in case the lug is too thick for freely moving the barrel up and down.

Ruger Sr1911 Cmdr
I purchased this for my Ruger SR 1911 Commander size pistol after seeing another reviewer say it fit perfectly. I can confirm it popped right in without any fitment or adjustment at all. Seems to work great. Clears the factory grips just fine.
