THUMB SAFETY, AMBIDEXTROUS, WIDE LEVER, 1911, BULLET PROOF, STAINLESS

I purchased a Ruger SR1911 stainless after finding the WC bullet proof thumb safety. The Ruger didn’t have a ambi safety installed. Being a lefty, I wanted to have one that would be durable and dependable. This ambi safety is worth every penny. I installed it and it didn’t require any fitting. Doesn’t require you to change the grips or modify them. The fit and finish is better than I could have imagined. The stainless finish matches the Ruger better than I expected.

I've replaced just about all of the parts in my 1911/2011 with Wilson Combat Bulletproof parts and I wish that Wilson made other parts to fit double stack 1911s and 2011s . I had an EGW HD ambi safety in my double stack 1911 and while adjusting the right side of the safety the EGW HD ambi snapped right in the middle! EGW uses a kind of male flat head screw driver and female part that meet in the middle and holds the whole thing and the grip safety together and that is a weak point. Did my research and wound up back looking at the Wilson Combat Bulletproof Ambi safety and just like the EGW the Wilson ambi safety has a hammer pin that connects the right side of the safety to the gun so it's a solid set up and both of the arms (or whatever they are called) of the Wilson reach from one side to the other creating a much stronger Ambi thumb safety! Also the angle of the safety paddles on the Wilson are better and allow me to rest my thumbs on them and are not uncomfortable at all. I have on the larger side of average-ish man hands if that helps. Installing was the same. Fit is better and this is by far a much better and stronger Ambi thumb safety design and it looks awesome! I love Wilson Combat Bulletproof parts.

This is an extremely high quality and practical accessory. The workmanship is superb, installation by a competent gunsmith is a breeze, they look great on the pistol and perform magnificently. This is a “must-have” item that shooters will absolutely love.

Read numerous reviews on different ambi safetys before purchasing the wide bulletproof version. Being left handed and Colt Government 1911s are right handed only, I broke the firearm down and cleaned after initial 200 rounds for break-in, I might as well try to install the safety. Highest quality part you can purchase, fit and finish are flawless, no modifications required to complete, functions perfectly. Thanks for the persons in the shop for producing a excellent item. I will always purchase Wilson Combat parts for any future needs.

Ingenious design that provides positive retention that grip retained ambi often lacks. I thought the price wasnt justified but after installation, knew it was well worth the value. In addition, the disassembly is easy as outlined by a Steve Kelly, Wilson Combat You Tube video.

...and leave the right side alone for my left thumb. Perfect for this lefty!
