The advanced technology Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic (XD FTM) is changing the way self-defense bullets are perceived. This bullet is optimal for use in 9mm Luger, .357 SIG, and .380 Auto handgun loads.

Please note that these are bullets (projectiles) only for reloading. This product is not loaded ammunition that is ready to use in a firearm.

The advanced technology Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic (XD FTM) is changing the way self-defense bullets are perceived. Like the Xtreme Penetrator, the progressive nose geometry allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets. Additionally, the bullet is solid copper, able to overcome barriers to penetration, is environmentally friendly and does massive tissue damage on impact. Penetrating barriers such as drywall or heavy clothing prior to impacting the intended target doesn’t have the potentially negative effect on the Xtreme Defense that it does to conventional hollow point bullets.

The nose design is the key. The Fluid Transfer’s radial flutes force the hydraulic energy inward and then as the energy is restricted, it accelerates outward creating high pressure spikes severely damaging surrounding tissue. This very rapid increase in fluid flow creates cavitation and massive tissue damage away from the projectile equivalent to those of the best hollow points on the market. The result of the Xtreme Defense is a permanent wound cavity that is two to four times greater than what a flat or round nose bullet generates and often larger than traditional or solid copper expanding bullets. What you get is a self-defense bullet that will shoot through barriers without deformation or trajectory change and creates a larger permanent wound cavity coupled with the desired 18 inches of penetration.

Xtreme Defense bullets are currently available in the following caliber diameters: .312, .355, .357, .400, .410, .429, .451, .452, and .458.

Solid copper Xtreme Defense bullets meet the criteria of states and jurisdictions calling for lead free projectiles.

    Awesome Performance

This bullet even looks like one I’d want to carry in every one of my EDC pistols. Great performance, and it’s been very reliable in all of my .380 handguns. Price……OMG! It means there’s just a limited number of cartridges I can reload, and those that I do reload I have to use in the magazines for my EDC handguns.

    Stayin' Alive.

I carry a 380 for protection. Some would say I'm undergunned, but seeing the performance of these buĺets on numerous YouTube videos I am confident that these bullets will give me what I want when needed. I hope I never need them, ever. They are a bit expensive, but what's your life worth?

    What Are The ODDS?

Posted by Charlie on May 25th 2023

I don't carry, nor do I plan on it. I do wear a pistol sometimes around the property when coyotes are showing themselves. My threats aren't human.... yet. We have Chihuahuas..... 'lunch meat on legs.' The coyote stepped out about one in the afternoon, 15 feet away, and just stood there. It was an easy shot, and it was down before I recovered from the muzzle blast. Like shooting a 22, with the noise of a 44 Magnum...... all from a 9mm. What are the odds one gets to test loads against a live subject? These things do everything they are supposed to do. All of my guns are loaded with them now, in one form or another.

    Great bullet but over priced!

The Lehigh pistol bullets I've bought in 68, 90 and 118 grain are the bees knees but damn, they're too expensive!

    Best option!

The .380 has become very popular again, and the extreme defender has made it a viable self defense load! Once again, their ammo is very expensive, but buying the projectiles and loading yourself (with their loading specs) can be very beneficial for self defense!

    LIGHTNING

I tried this bullet in a 3 different pistols, all with outstanding success. I loaded up a ladder from bottom to top of your +p 9mm in Silhouette and CFE Pistol. Even the hottest load recommended produced less recoil than standard 115gr 9mm fmj. My splits between shots were smaller than with any of the conventional 9mm ammunition I train with. The accuracy was head and shoulders above even the boutique defensive ammunition from the big manufacturers. What was most impressive was the explosive terminal performance. Large squash filled with water were shredded at great distances. Even when they hid behind sheet metal they suffered the same fate. The trifecta of low recoil, accuracy, and laser beam trajectory makes this bullet a winner. The fluid dynamics of the bullet in soft tissue is no gimmick, compared to some of the light 380 hollow point bullets I have loaded to 9mm+p, this bullet made twice the carnage in my tests in exposed targets. When the target was behind a barrier of any significance, the conventional bullets faired no better than FMJ, but the Xtreme Defense 68gr seemed to be unaffected by the barriers. The unique caveat is the bullet also seems to stop within the FBI's preferred distance in meat. I am thoroughly impressed with all aspects of this bullet's performance. This bullet also fed exceptionally well in every 9mm weapon I have had an opportunity to drop my dummy cartridge in. If you are on the side of good, I implore you to carry this bullet loaded in your weapon.
