The advanced technology Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic (XD FTM) is changing the way self-defense bullets are perceived. This bullet is optimal for use in 9mm Luger handgun loads. Not for use in the 380 Auto cartridge.
Please note that these are bullets (projectiles) only for reloading. This product is not loaded ammunition that is ready to use in a firearm.
Please note that is bullet is intended only for usage in 9mm Luger ammunition and cannot safely be used to load .380 Auto ammunition.
The advanced technology Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic (XD FTM) is changing the way self-defense bullets are perceived. Like the Xtreme Penetrator, the progressive nose geometry allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets. Additionally, the bullet is solid copper, able to overcome barriers to penetration, is environmentally friendly and does massive tissue damage on impact. Penetrating barriers such as drywall or heavy clothing prior to impacting the intended target doesn’t have the potentially negative effect on the Xtreme Defense that it does to conventional hollow point bullets.
The nose design is the key. The Fluid Transfer’s radial flutes force the hydraulic energy inward and then as the energy is restricted, it accelerates outward creating high pressure spikes severely damaging surrounding tissue. This very rapid increase in fluid flow creates cavitation and massive tissue damage away from the projectile equivalent to those of the best hollow points on the market. The result of the Xtreme Defense is a permanent wound cavity that is two to four times greater than what a flat or round nose bullet generates and often larger than traditional or solid copper expanding bullets. What you get is a self-defense bullet that will shoot through barriers without deformation or trajectory change and creates a larger permanent wound cavity coupled with the desired 18 inches of penetration.
Xtreme Defense bullets are currently available in the following caliber diameters: .312, .355, .357, .400, .410, .429, .451, .452, and .458.
Solid copper Xtreme Defense bullets meet the criteria of states and jurisdictions calling for lead free projectiles.

Excellent Product
I really like this bullet and load it in a 9x25 Dillon application. That is a 10mm Auto case necked down to 9mm, and launches these at insane velocities, as in 1800 - 1900 fps.

Does exactly what I Need
Decided to hand load my 9 mms and looked for a defensive slug that would perform in high accuracy and dependable knock down. Right out of the chute, my first loads with No 5 were better than any store bought. Four inches at 50 feet with red dot site on my SA XD. No function issues, i'm sold.

Excellent
Bought a box just to try and these are super rounds. I used 7.0 gns of Accurate #5. Easier recoil, but I didn't get published velocities. Mine came in all around 1290'ish fps. Accuracy is great and the damage these things do is astounding. I'll have my mags always loaded with these monolithic babies. I'm sold!!!

As good as it gets for pistol!
I've been loading since 1987. I was a police officer and tested and researched wound ballistics for most handgun calibers and bullets. I had NEVER used my own loads for carry/HD until the 2012 ammo crisis and then loaded Gold Dots to factory spec. Not only are these bullets some of the most accurate I've tried over all these years, but also the most dependable, both for feeding in semi auto pistols and test medium performance.

Outstanding Service
I bought these and counted them when they arrived because there was a large billet of copper in the bag. I had 96, not 100 bullets. I contacted Lehigh and they immediately took care of the problem by shipping a new batch. The piece of copper had inadvertently got mixed in with the bullets and threw the count-by-weight off. Great product and great customer support.

Great hunting / defensive projectiles...!
The 90 gr.Extreme Defense projectiles are a great value for either the hunter or for those who like to roll their own defensive ammo. The length and consistency of the projectile makes it easy to develop consistent loads for both applications, that produce wounding capabilities due to the construction and engineering of the tip. This change in traditional thinking and construction has led to a more capable bullet for downrange performance no longer determined by inconsistent expansion. They produce consistent deep penetration and tissue damage without requiring expansion.

Great Bullet
I tried these on a whim and they have been the best for my pistols so far. They're easy to load. They don't have a point of impact shift from my range loads. They are also the most accurate bullets I've tried in my 9mm pistols, defensive or otherwise. The only downside is the cost, but they are competitively priced with other defensive projectiles and in my guns are more accurate. I have not tried the lathe turned version of the same bullet. I will keep a few dozen of these loaded up and they have replaced my former favorite hollow point for HD and carry loads.
