The progressive nose geometry of this bullet allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets. This bullet is optimal for use in .380 Auto handgun loads.

Please note that these are bullets (projectiles) only for reloading. This product is not loaded ammunition that is ready to use in a firearm.

Please note that is bullet is intended only for usage in .380 Auto ammunition and cannot safely be used to load 9mm Luger ammunition.

‘ULTIMATE BULLET PERFORMANCE’ is the driving force behind Lehigh Defense to create new products, redefine terminal performance and to deploy modern manufacturing processes. This mantra has led us to introduce a unique and innovative product, the Xtreme Penetrator Fluid Transfer Monolithic (XP FTM) product line, for both handgun and rifles. The progressive nose geometry allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets. To top it off, the bullet is solid copper and is able to overcome barriers to penetration, is environmentally friendly and VERY target unfriendly. Penetrating barriers such as drywall or heavy clothing prior to impacting the intended target doesn’t have the potentially negative effect on the Xtreme Defense that it does to conventional hollow point bullets.

The magic happens with the nose design where the Fluid Transfer’s radial flutes force the hydraulic energy inward and then as the energy is restricted, it accelerates outward creating high pressure spikes severely damaging surrounding tissue. This very rapid increase in fluid flow creates cavitation and massive tissue damage away from the projectile equivalent to those of the best hollow points on the market. This results in a permanent wound cavity that is two to four times greater than what a flat or round nose bullet generates and often larger than traditional or solid copper expanding bullets. What you get is a hunting or special application self defense bullet that creates a larger permanent wound cavity coupled with exceptionally deep penetration.

The Xtreme Penetrator is the bullet of choice for hunting large, tough and often dangerous game due to the fluid transfer and deep straight line penetration.

Xtreme Penetrator bullets are currently available in the following diameters: .355, .357, .364, .400, .429, .452, .458, .475 and .500.

Solid copper Xtreme Penetrator bullets meet the criteria of states and jurisdictions calling for lead free projectiles.

9mm Lehigh 90 grain Copper Bullet

Posted by Clifford P. on Jan 14th 2018

I am getting close to testing my Lehigh Loads: My starting load is 7.2 grains of Alliant Power Pistol powder with a CCI 550 Magnum primer. Souped-up, yea! I expect 1400 fps velocity from my Beretta 92fs pistol. What the bullet may do to the Steel backstop I don't know yet. Hopefully my range will allow this power . . . Cliffy

like the design shape - have not fired yet. will hold final review after the range test. down side comment - darn expensive... barnes copper bullets started out high $ then found a decent pricing point.

    380 APc

I tried the Extreme Penetrator loads using your load data and got 890 FPS out of my Bersa pistol. Shooting into wet telephone books at about 15 to 20 feet I got 7 inches of penetration with a small wound channel. I changed the load to a max load listed in a couple reloading manuals and got the velocity up to 1000 FPS. Big difference 9 to 11 inches of penetration and a bigger wound channel. Looks like these bullets work quite well at over 1000 FPS. These bullets penetrate much better than any other bullet I have tried and when loaded to 1000+ FPS seem to produce about as good a wound channel as most other types of bullets. Seems like a winner to me. I also tried some Underwood loads that were rated 1100 FPS and they worked as good or better than my hand loads. All the other loads I have tried Hornady, Federal, Ruger, Winchester, Buffalo Bore and Remington in my 380 gave me about 4 to 5 1/2 inch penetration though a couple gave a much bigger wound channel. I feel 4 to 5 1/2 inches of penetration is pretty marginal and with hollow points you always have the possibility of the bullet nose filling with cloth and becoming a solid. So I think the extreme penetrator is the way to go. Lou

The only bullets to put in your .380 for self defense

Posted by Rick S. on Sep 3rd 2016

A quality bullet, accurate and tough. In looking for a suitable .380 loads , my friend and I shot almost every .380 big name load in various mediums. Expanding bullets failed to penetrate deep enough. With this bullet - you get straight wound channels as deep as FMJ loads. It damages ballistic gel almost as much as high speed +P light weight HPs . Plus I don't load this hot for better control with a small pocket auto. Very fast delivery from company. Only negative is cost, but like most things you get what you pay for.

    90gr XP for 380 Auto

Posted by William S. on Aug 27th 2016

Terrific experience all around. I loaded my first 50 for reliability testing in my two summer carry guns (Glock 42 and Kahr CW380). Using your load data they worked perfectly and feed was 100% in both guns. I will be buying more periodically in similar or larger lots as I like to practice with my carry ammo at least some of my sessions. Terrific product and CS, thank you.

    Great bullet!

I bought these to reload and see if they would function properly in my browning 1911-380 and they worked perfectly! I followed the load data from the website and I did not have any malfunctions at all! I think these bullets make some fine carry ammo! I look forward to trying the new Xtreme Defender in 380!

    A viable .380 load

Posted by Todd C. on Sep 19th 2015

So far I have only loaded and fired 50 rounds. I used Bullseye and BE-86 with Starline brass, WSP primers and a COL of 0.950" (COL per Lehigh load data). A Glock 42 and Beretta Pico were used for testing. Both were 100% reliable in testing (topped off each time with 7+1 (magguts) and 6+1) and all loads were accurate. Bullseye loads of 3.2 gr. averaged around 840 fps. and BE-86 loads of 4.0 gr. averaged around 900 fps. Remember you are seating a longer all copper bullet deeper so you pressure will go up. Be Careful. I will be testing some more when I can get them but the BE-86 load is the front runner for my new carry load. Stout enough for the little .380 and a viable defensive load for sure with this bullet.
