I paired this barrel with a Wilson billet upper, a Lantac BCG and a precision arms brake. Shooting the rifle at 300 yards it shot a 1.1 inch group using 69 gr. federal gold metal match. So, I just ordered a 20".
I normally don't write reviews, but I have to on this one. I used this barrel on a recent build and worked up a load using 69 grain HPBT match bullets. I do a ladder in 0.1 grain increments shooting in 3 shot groups to find nodes. I was pleasantly surprised when I shot a 3 shot group measuring 0.108 inches center to center at 100 yards with this barrel. Wish I could upload the target photo. I normally don't see that kind of accuracy except in a custom bench rest bolt action rifle. Moreover, the entire 10 loads tested that day averaged 0.612 inches! That is 0.6 MOA average over 30 different shots across 10 different loads. This demonstrates the potential of this quality barrel. Highly recommended!
So I built a custom AR. I bought this barrel expecting decent sub MOA at 100 and got that but what blew my mind is when I put it out to 350 meters. We hung a 5" metal plate from a target and just for fun I took some very slow methodical shots at it. I had wislson combat pop up sights and a wkson combat trigger an hit it 4 put of 5 times. I prefer irons over optics for the most part just bc in the army in 2002 we had only irons on our m16a2 for the most part. So it just feels natural to me my friend had another custom build with a geissle barrel and trigger and troy pop up irons and I missed over and over. I swear this is the best bang for your money and I'm going to buy another one very soon if it's anything like the first one I bought it's a no braner for me. One review said he was getting 1-5" groups at 100 yards. I would check your build check your ammo then check your eye sight bc this hits what you aim it at.
Excellent fit and finish, sub MOA groups. What more can you want?
Got this barrel for a precision build wiit all wilson parts barrel looks amazing with black finish snug fit into wilson matched reciever set will update after finish on accuracy
This barrel was used for an 18" SPR / coyote type rifle. Parts were mostly Wilson. The only non Wilson parts were a KAC URX4 handguard, Noveske gen 1 lower, magpul PRS stock. The gun shoots in the .65 range very consistently. Im sure its capable of better im just not capable, and neither are 98% of shooters. I own a couple high end barrels and custom built rifles and the Wilson barrel doesn't leave me wanting or needing a better quality barrel for my Ar-15 needs.
I bought two of these a while back and can say that they are the finest barrels I have and when I say accurate I mean on the scale of let's say greatness! Especially with black hills 77 grain. It holds your rifle steady and balanced. Plus it looks super nice and has wonderful markings and flutes. The non fluted is also great. Bench and prone shooting this thing shines!
Put this barrel on a new build and it is the most accurate rifle I have ever shot. With handloads I was getting clover leafs at 100 yards with a gritty trigger. WC will definitely be my go to barrel on any future builds.
