Aero build Love this barrel a lot Looks good feels great
This is my second barrel from WC.
I bought this barrel for an Aero M5E1 build. I had issues chambering Federal 7.62 NATO, could not seat the rounds. However, I had no issues chambering Federal .308 Win.
I installed this barrel into my AR-10, and broke it in with some spare ammo. I then ran 6 types of match ammo through it with 2 achieving 1 MOA. Once I put my suppressor on, 4 of the 6 were able to shoot 1 MOA or better. My best group was 0.73 MOA. Fantastic out of the box performance.
Barrel will not chamber factory made .308 or 7.62 Nato ammunition. If a round does chamber, it will need to be mortared or driven out with a rod. There are visible gouges in the surface of the chamber. Sent back to WC for inspection/broaching of the chamber. WC response was to "clean grime" out of factory new/unfired barrel. Issue persist despite WC super duper cleaning job. Hot garbage, stay away.
I’ve had this barrel for a couple of years now and a thousand rounds through it. This barrel is super accurate it loves 168 grain bullets. It will shoot sub moa at 100 and with a captured buffer and heavy profile BCG and warcomp it has very little muzzle climb it is a great hog gun.
This is a very accurate barrel. I loaded some 175 gr Sierra TMK for zero and tuning. Without playing with the load, it was shooting .41 MOA @ 100 yards. Unfortunately, I could only go out to 800 Yards. Even at this range, it was hitting consistently. I highly recommend. It's an excellent barrel.
Installed the barrel in an Aero Precision M5 build. Built as a heavy duty precision hunting/match rifle. Easily shoots sub-moa groups with FGMM 168 and 175 bullets. I reload my own ammo just to get the little bit extra velocity and tighten groups up to 1/2 moa 5 shot groups. Also shoots handloads Nosler 165gr ballistic tips and Winchester 150gr Deer Season XP sub moa. Using SLR adjustable gas block and Silencerco Omega suppressor on it works great together.
I received this barrel last month within a week of ordering it. I Installed it on an aero precision M5E1 with no installation problems. But my rifle kept short stroking when I took it to the range. I couldn't figure out why. So I emailed customer service asking what the gas port hole size should be. I was dealing with a man named. Carey tate who was super helpful. He informed me that there are actually two different "rifle length" gas tubes and sent me a photo to show me what It should look like. And sure enough, that seems to be the problem. These guys need to teach other companies what customer service is all about. They are top notch just like their products.
