Wilson Combat

The Wilson Combat stainless bulletproof extractor for the .45 ACP 1911 is the highest quality extractor available on the market today. Built with superior materials, this part has been designed to provide you with maximum reliability and performance.

Wilson Combat Bullet Proof ® extractors are crafted from premium alloy steel and then heat treated to ensure maximum durability. This allows them to maintain high tension for extended periods of time without any sign of chipping or breakage, making them the number one choice among professional gunsmiths. No other extractor on the market offers such superior quality and performance.

Our 1911 extractors make installation a breeze, as they only need minimal fitting for smooth and reliable operation. Even better, in some cases you can simply drop them into place without any final tightening needed! When used with our Wilson Combat firing pin stop, you will be able to get complete optimization of the extractor function on all types of 1911 pistols.

Information on the installation of extractors can be found here.

PH 13-8 Stainless Steel:

13-8 Mo stainless is typically used for valve parts, fittings, cold-headed and machined fasteners, shafts, landing gear parts, pins, aircraft components, nuclear reactor components and petrochemical applications requiring resistance to stress-corrosion cracking. Generally, this alloy should be considered where high strength, toughness, corrosion resistance, and resistance to stress cracking are required in a steel. Tensile strength of 215,000 PSI

Series 70 vs Series 80 1911 Extractors:

The difference between Series 70 and Series 80 extractors is a plunger retainer stud machined into the Series 80 extractor. This retainer stud holds the firing pin safety plunger that is visible next to the disconnector rail in place on Colt-style Series 80 slides. All extractors which are designed to work in a Series 80 1911 will also work in all Series 70 guns, however extractors designed for Series 70 guns lack the machined cut which allows the firing pin lock plunger to be installed and therefore can not be used in Series 80 guns. Kimber series II guns can use either a 70 series or 80 series. All Springfield Armory 1911 pistols are 70 series.

DISCLAIMER: Wilson Combat 1911 small parts may require minor fitting and should only be installed by a qualified gunsmith. Although these parts are intended to be drop-in, due to the range of tolerances between various manufacturers' handguns, some fitting may occasionally be necessary. We highly recommend all fitting/installation of small parts is done by a professional gunsmith.

    Critical Component

Posted by Ryan on Aug 2nd 2020

The extractor is a critical component of the 1911. Unfortunately, some manufacturers are not getting it right and when you buy a new 1911 you end up having to address this issue. No need for a gunsmith, you can do this. You simply can’t go wrong with a Wilson extractor. I have used them many times in various 1911s and they are excellent. Just follow the instructions for properly tensioning.

    Suprised!!

Posted by Mark on Oct 24th 2015

I had some smithing tools laid out but was pleasantly surprised. This extractor and the matching FPS dropped into my para ordinance GI expert series 70 converted with no tooling. Now the pistol passes the Hilton Yam 10-8 extractor test.

I used this part and Wilson Combats firing pin stop to completely eliminate my extraction problems. Now my pistol correctly extracts every case, every time, even if I dont have the magazine in the pistol when I fire.

I bought this extractor for my Kimber CDP as my factory extractor was clocking. Along with the Series 70 extractor, I also replaced my factory firing pin stop with the Wilson Series 70 firing pin stop. Everything went together perfectly and no more clocking!! A nice tight fit!!

    Extractor For My 1911

Posted by Ken on Feb 21st 2013

I replaced a malfunctioning extractor in my RIA 1911. It fit perfectly with no tuning needed. The rear of the extractor protruded past the end of the slide, but this should not be taken as poor quality as it was for another brand of gun and my local gunsmith ground it to match the slide. I have run over 500 rounds through the gun with no malfunctions at all.

I put it on the shelf for 10 years. Between this and the +P magazines I may only have FTEject occationally may be due to light reloads. No FTFeed or FTExtract Flawless and carrying now with my carry ammo. If it hadnt been for Robar Custom on this gun $1200.oo it would have been gone. Thank You Wilson, I love my Kimber now. Saving for a new Wilson now!
