About S7 Tool Steel:
A Wilson exclusive, S7 is a shock resistant “non stainless” tool steel with excellent toughness and high strength, along with good wear resistance. It has maximum shock resistance and high compression strength, which gives it good deformation resistance in use, while retaining good toughness to resist chipping and breaking. Typical applications for S7 tool steel are punches, chisels, blanking dies, forming dies and concrete breakers.
Series 70 vs Series 80 1911 Extractors:
The difference between Series 70 and Series 80 extractors is a plunger retainer stud machined into the Series 80 extractor. This retainer stud holds the firing pin safety plunger that is visible next to the disconnector rail in place on Colt-style Series 80 slides. All extractors which are designed to work in a Series 80 1911 will also work in all Series 70 guns, however extractors designed for Series 70 guns lack the machined cut which allows the firing pin lock plunger to be installed and therefore can not be used in Series 80 guns. Kimber series II guns can use either a 70 series or 80 series. All Springfield Armory 1911 pistols are 70 series.
DISCLAIMER: Wilson Combat 1911 small parts may require minor fitting and should only be installed by a qualified gunsmith. Although these parts are intended to be drop-in, due to the range of tolerances between various manufacturers' handguns, some fitting may occasionally be necessary. We highly recommend all fitting/installation of small parts is done by a professional gunsmith.

My new extractor I got
I just got the bulletproof extractor for my American Tactical 45 ACP, I had a jamming problem, a very annoying one, I put the Wilson combat bulletproof extractor in and the pistol cycles now, no jamming, no problem.

Quality part for Colt Gold Cup National Match of 1975
This quality part was almost a drop in. It was a bit tight and needed some relaxing to avoid a nosedive failure to feed on insertion of a fresh magazine, while dropping the slide. Subsequent rounds fed perfectly, and all ejected strongly. Interestingly, only the dropped slide caused the failure. A full rack and release always fed. I used both the original magazine and two WC’s with the same results, and was running S&B 230gr ball ammunition. Along with this extractor I also purchased a new firing pin stop. As advertised, this part required a small amount of fitting. It was too snug for a comfortable thumb push-in, so I gave the rails a light 1200 grit Arkansas stoning to reduce the registration just so. Now the combination of parts is a perfect fit, with no clocking of the extractor. The rest of this classic in my collection is kept fit, so I can feed, fire, and eject all day long, with nary a concern that the extractor will need retensioning, except at very long intervals. This is my competition gun, so this modest cost upgrade is just what it needed for full confidence. Five stars all the way!

wanted the best
bought the same one for my Rock island armory 1911 9mm ultra dropped in and worked perfectly out of box.so when my Springfield 1911 garrison 45cal needed a new extractor it was a no brainer and as with the 9mm worked perfectly out of box no fitting or adjustment needed cant ask for more than that.

Great Part
This thing is designed the way extractors should have been all along. Old high round count extractor was dragging cases across magazine lips, wouldn’t hold tension, and tossing empty cases fifty or more feet away.

Rock Island Armory M1911 A1-Fs
Does a better job at extracting the spent cases than the factory one. Im not sure if its on purpose but it sticks out the back of the slide a bit, I dont know if that means I have to file it down

Wilson Extractor Solved Ftf Problems W/Remington R1 Enhanced
My new R1 Enhanced had feeding issues, from the get-go, even with 230 grain ball ammo. It wouldnt feed any Remington 230 grain defense hollow points, which hung up, just below the barrel, at the feed ramp. After a couple of days, on You Tube, and forums, I decided, rather than sending it back, to Remington which they recommended, I bought a Wilson extractor, added a slight bit, of tension, to it, installed it, and, no more FTF issues. When making a side-by-side visual comparison, the Wilson extractor has some chamfering, that is not on the stock extractor. I also had purchased two Wilson mags, for this pistol, as many folks had mentioned the stock mags, as part of the feeding problem; however, once I replaced the extractor, feeding issues disappeared, with both the Wilson mags, and the stock Remington mags.

Got My Ati Titan Up And Running
As one of the many who had cycling/extracting issues with the ATI Titan 45, I replaced the guide rod and spring which, according to most everything you read on this 1911s issue, seems to be the cure. No dice. From out of the box, I didnt like the extractor, so Wilson Combat Bullet Proof to the rescue!! With very little fitting and a small tweak to the tension, I have no more failures. Thanks Wilson!
