Our full-size X-TAC Supergrade pistols are hand-built one at a time by Wilson Combat’s most experienced pistolsmiths. Produced in very limited monthly quantities, every Supergrade is an heirloom-quality, collector-ready 1911 that showcases decades of gunsmithing expertise.
The Supergrade’s bi-directional X-TAC frontstrap and slide treatment deliver superior traction and control in severe, hard-use environments. Scientifically designed to perform with wet or dry hands and with or without gloves, the X-TAC pattern provides secure, comfortable handling without the harsh bite of traditional checkering. Paired with G-10 X-TAC grips, the tread locks into the firing hand, reduces muzzle flip, and remains snag-free for carry and rapid presentation.

Each Commander-size X-TAC Supergrade is hand-built by Wilson Combat’s most experienced pistolsmiths, with only a few produced each month. Limited in number and crafted one at a time, every Supergrade is an heirloom-worthy custom 1911 designed for serious shooters and collectors alike

X-TAC Supergrade FAQs
What distinguishes the Supergrade from standard X-TAC models? Supergrade pistols are hand-built by Wilson Combat’s veteran pistol smiths in limited numbers, blending mechanical perfection with heirloom-quality craftsmanship. They feature contoured magazine wells, heavy-machined slide chamfers, X-Top slides, and ball-endmill cuts, in addition to the signature X-TAC tread pattern.
What calibers are available? All Supergrade models are offered in .45 ACP and 9mm. The compact variant reduces capacity to 7 rounds but retains the same caliber options.
Are these pistols suitable for concealed carry? Yes. While the full-size Supergrade excels at duty and range roles, the Commander and Professional models balance carry comfort and shoot ability. The Compact variant provides improved concealability thanks to its reduced height.
How many pistols are built? Supergrade pistols are built in limited numbers each month, making them highly collectible. Each pistol is hand-fit and extensively tested to ensure exceptional quality.
What warranty is included? Like other Wilson Combat 1911s, the Supergrade series is backed by a lifetime service policy and an accuracy guarantee of 1 to 1.5 inches at 25 yards.
